Election Day -72: Tory Support Crumbles

leave a comment »

Well, the ICM poll in the Guardian today puts Conservative support at its lowest for nearly two years, with a lead of just seven points, and canvassing in Bayswater this evening, the word on the doorstep seems to support this.

Granted, there are still plenty of Tory die-hards who will vote for them however much of a mess Cameron & co make of their campaign and whatever shenanigans the local party gets up to, but the more thoughtful ones are seriously questioning whether they’re going to vote Conservative this time.

I’m not saying all those people are going to vote Lib Dem, but they’re certainly considering it, and with Europe seeming to be of less concern to voters than it was, the fringe parties aren’t getting a look in.

Hung parliament looms indeed; this election is getting interesting!
