Election Day -61: On The Buses

leave a comment »

One day very soon I’m going to do a proper job on the wonderful and amazing buses they’re using for the rail replacement service for the Jubilee Line. As the line was out between Waterloo and Stanmore today, the Finchley Road was a veritable bus-spotter’s feast; I followed an immaculate green Routemaster ? which looked like it had come straight out of the London Transport museum. Maybe they should stop apologising for line closures and start bigging up the classic bus tours to tourists. Or not.

Even closer to home, glad to see that Venise (see Election Day -70), the shoe shop in the high street, has NOT closed down, merely had a refurb. And the shop next door which has been closed for an age is reopening as an ice cream parlour.

Long may they flourish – if they can survive the replacement water works going on at the moment, prosperous times should lie ahead.
